Shelter services – Women and Children

  • Protective housing with private, confidential location
  • Safe transportation to shelter may be provided
  • 24-hour staff support; safety planning assistance
  • Daily access to trauma-informed counselling services
  • Shared accommodations – congregate living
  • All meals, snacks provided
  • Clean linens, towels; free hygiene supplies
  • On-site laundry and shower facilities
  • Family violence information and education
  • Protection order preparation support
  • Contact with community supports
  • Support with Legal Aid, E.I.A., as required
  • Housing support services on-site
  • Individual and group counselling
  • Children’s counselling services
  • Activities and cultural supports
  • On-site school (SunRise Tutoring) for grades K-8

Anyone with questions about services, or in need of support with family violence and abuse situations (women, men, youth) may contact support services 24-hours, every day of the year – no-cost and confidential. Individuals do not need to be seeking shelter to access the support line.

Outreach Services

Follow Up Services

– Ongoing support for those departing from shelter services
– May include in-person and/or phone services
– Advocacy, connection to community resources

– Presentations on Willow Place services and supports
– Family violence prevention education
– Customizable for group needs and focus
– In-person or virtual presentations available
– Seminars and career fairs: presenters, information booth

Men’s Services

– Access by calling support line or using text-only line (1-877-977-0007 or 204-615-0311 – text to 204-792-5302)
– For male victims of family violence and abuse
– Information and support by phone services
– Referrals for those needing shelter
