Soup Sisters Winnipeg – Soup-Making Event

Soup Sisters Winnipeg has supported Willow Place for over ten years. Currently they plan four soup-making events a year, graciously supported by the Fairmont Hotel Winnipeg, who provides professional kitchen and staff to assist with soup-making, shops and partially prepares ingredients; and provides serving staff for the event. Each event produces five varieties of nutritious soup for Willow Place’s busy violence prevention shelter program.

The soup-making event includes appetizers and wine before the soup-making begins, and also features short presentations by Soup Sisters, Willow Place and the Fairmont Hotel. For soup-making, the guests are divided into five teams, each taking care of one soup recipe.  While the soups are simmering, participants enjoy a light supper of soup, salad, bread and coffee/tea.  After dinner, the participants package and label the soup for delivery to Willow Place’s shelter program.
