Building on the momentum generated by our inaugural event “Changing the Conversation” held in November 2016, our “Challenge for Change” dinner and social innovation lab event will be held during Domestic Violence Awareness Month (November 2017) and align with the United Nations 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign (November 25 – December 10).
During last year’s conversation we heard the call to bring together thought leaders from academia, business, shelter services, not-for-profits, the public and government to create a space for thought provoking discussion leading to systems change. Through panel discussion and facilitated table groups, participants at this year’s event will identify policies and practices that create barriers to accessing services for victims of domestic violence and generate credible solutions to shift the system. Our goal is to create positive change within the domestic violence system through the provision of streamlined support for those who need it most.
Together, we will discuss
understanding family violence
policies and practices that create barriers,
and how we can better serve
our diverse community.
